|
Frequently Asked Questions
Where will campers stay?
Campers will be housed at Snowy Owl Inn, a dormitory style inn, which is centrally
located in the Valley. There will be 3-5 other campers and at least one counselor in the room as well.
Do campers need to bring any equipment?
WVSC recommends that if you have a helmet, mountain bike or tennis racquet to bring it to camp. Also, if you have any equipment that you feel more comfortable using such as golf
clubs, ice skates etc., bring those as well. WVSC will provide tennis racquets and golf clubs. Mountain bike rentals are available for an additional fee.
What is the food like?
If you are expecting institutional quality meals at WVSC you will be disappointed!! Consistent with our philosophy of developing healthy lifestyles for kids, we are extremely
fortunate to have a chef such as Susan Brunvard preparing healthy and nutritious meals here at the Sports for a Lifetime Academy. A student of the Culinary Institute of America in
Hyde Park, NY, Susan was head chef at the famous Rangeley Inn in Rangeley, Maine for nearly 20 years. Each day starts with a choice of a hot breakfast entree or cereal. Lunch and
dinner are served buffet style outdoors with two entrees served. Fruits and salads are always available
What do campers do when it rains?
Facilities at Waterville include indoor pool, indoor ice skating rink, indoor gym and two indoor tennis courts. Arts and crafts, model rocketry and digital photography are also
available. |
